Samantha Gilbert Pridgen, Massage Therapist, Owner-Body Elemental

I was born and raised in Southern California and lived at the foot of Mount Baldy in Claremont, visited Lakes Mead and Powell annually, and have always had an affinity for listening, the spiritual, and the mysteries in life. I loved to do massage on friends and family, and found I had a knack for perceiving a depth to a situation that others did not. After graduating high school in 1985, I spent a year and a half at college in Northern Arizona. Then in 1987 I chose to move with my family to Raleigh NC and it was here I discovered a passion for the healing arts that remains to this day.

My journey began in May of 1990, where I met a woman involved in the arts who asked me to apprentice with her. Over the next 2 years, I learned about Aromatherapy, the Body and different ways to treat it, but the most important aspect of this training was to be my understanding of the Energy of the body. I achieved my 2nd level of Reiki training in 1991

In September of 1992, I realized that my career would be in bodywork, and so chose to attend an accredited school to deepen my education and get certified credentials. I attended the Carolina School of Massage Therapy in Carrboro, NC. Over the course of a year, I learned and became certified in the art of Massage therapy. The courses included (but are not limited to) Swedish and Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, Polarity Energetic Therapy, Acupressure and Somatic Studies. I graduated in September of 1993.

While attending school, I opened Body Elemental, which I continue to own and operate to this day. Over the next 19 years, I developed my skill set to provide deep, essential, whole body healing to my clientele. Through developing relationships, talking and intuiting, I incorporate whatever the client needs the time of their session, including Craniosacral, Aromatherapy, Swedish, Deep tissue, Chi Activiation, and Reiki. My main goal is to create long-term relationships with people in order to address the many layers of healing that person may need. Many of the clients I see have been with me for the 19 years I have been practicing, but I also have new clients from just last year.

I am so very grateful for the gifts I have been given, and the ability to have developed them over these past 2 decades. Annually, I attend continuing education classes to further deepen my understanding of both the body and the influences upon it in daily life.
